R&E Welcomes National School Boards Association Conferences to New Orleans

Last week R&E welcomed the National School Boards Association’s (NSBA’s) Council of Urban Boards of Education (CUBE) to New Orleans.  CUBE held its 44^th Annual Conference & Award Luncheon with the theme “Urban School Governance Today: Challenge and Opportunities” at the Loews Hotel from October 6-8, 2011.  CUBE represents over 110 urban school districts in 35 states and the Virgin Islands. Rodney & Etter served as a silver sponsor of the event and participated in the State of Urban Education Address and Luncheon, a discussion of the State-Level Challenges to School Board Governance, and a workshop on Teacher Effectiveness and Accountability.  We enjoyed networking with Board Members from across the nation and sharing our experiences on the role of school safety, school violence, bullying, and discriminatory school practices.

This week, the NSBA’s Council of School Attorneys (COSA) held their 2011 School Law Practice Seminar at the New Orleans Hilton Riverside Hotel.  Rodney & Etter, LLC, sponsored the WiFi access for the seminar, enabling the more than 120 attendees access to internet and email.
